Pisces in Astrology: The twelfth and final sign of the zodiac is Pisces and Pisces is almost invariably symbolised by the sign of two fishes. This is appropriate as Pisces is a water sign along with Scorpio and Cancer.

The two fish in the sign of Pisces point in two different directions, which is said to illustrate the inner tension and struggle that Pisces endures between both heart and soul. Other accounts have it that the two fishes are swimming in a circular pattern and that this signifies the cycle of growth, the seasons and all recurring life energies.

This too is apt as Pisces is also associated with the idea of endless time and the never ending nature of existence. Pisces, along with Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio and Capricorn, is negative in polarity. This means that Pisces prefers to rely on self resource rather than being dependent on others for their safety and sustenance. (This by no means goes against the fact that Pisces is the most wonderful team player.)
